Freeze Rules During Execution

Never redesign the system while running it.

When stress or fatigue peaks during execution, the brain attempts to lower the standard to escape discomfort. Freezing the rules prevents this negotiation.

A disciplined system executes exactly what was planned.

Why This Fails for Most People

Most people blur planning and execution. They want flexibility when the work gets hard.

They adjust the target mid-task. They decide they “did enough.” They convince themselves the rule was too strict anyway.

In-flight adjustments are just rationalized quitting.

The Gyōji Directive

Rules cannot be altered during execution.
